I enjoy the Oreo Cakesters. So far, golden is my favorite flavor. And I must say, it has retained it’s crown. If the flavor hadn’t been identified on the box, by taste alone I would have assumed this was just the regular oreo cookie flavor. It almost seemed like the cream part was the same flavor as the snack cakes.

And lo and behold, after reading the ingredient list - I’m guessing that’s what our friends at Nabisco did.

There is only one chocolate ingredient listed, “cocoa”. So cocoa in the cakes and a little sprinkled in the cream. I guess it’s fair to call this flavor Double Chocolate, if chocolate has technically been added twice. Now I can only muse about the potential of this cakester. If just a little milk or dark chocolate had been added to it or even a little cocoa butter. The depth of flavor it could have had.
A COUPLE DAYS LATER: freeze these and then let them defrost a couple minutes, just enough to let the cakes soften but allow the cream to maintain a mousse-like texture
Glad I tried it: Yes
Would I buy it again: No
