Flan, chocolate cake, yes please. Chocoflan has been a recent discovery for me. I’ve only had it once so far. I purchased a chocoflan from one of the local supermercados. It was ok. I wouldn't buy that one again but it left me wondering about what a really good chocoflan would taste like. The potential for greatness is there. But until I find it, Ben & Jerry’s Fudgy Flan will have to do.
Bravo to the food scientists at Ben & Jerry’s! My first spoonfuls of burnt caramel ice cream definitely hit all the flavor notes of flan. It even reminded me a bit of cracking into a crème brûlée.
Bites with brownie did become fudgy chocolate dominant. And while fudgy chocolate is never a bad problem. It does overtake the lovely subtle buttery, toasty notes in the burnt caramel ice cream. Nevertheless, the chewiness of the brownies does create a balanced texture contrast to the creaminess of the ice cream.
As for the pastry cream swirls, I could neither see or taste them. Squinting my eyes, I think I saw the tiniest hints of off-white in the ice cream. On the pint, the swirls are depicted in a more golden hue. Mine looked like the ice cream and swirls became one.

When not hijacked by chocolate brownie, I did have a couple spoonfuls that were more sweet and milky. Perhaps that was the pastry cream? Though it could have also just been my taste buds being lulled to sleep by the inordinate amount of sugar I consumed.
Glad I tried it: Yes
Would I buy it again: Yes, when in the mood for flan but not
