$9.79 ($2.45 per stuffed hash brown)

You had me at stuffed hash brown. Hurrah! to the wizardry of modern-day food science. Apparently, there are other flavors: Sausage & Cheese, Bacon & Veggies, Sausage & Gravy. My local store only had Meat Lovers. I wanted to maximize the crispiness so I cooked it up in the toaster oven; 400°, 27 minutes, flip at 20 minutes. This was dee-licious. Let’s not think about the 33+ unpronounceable additional ingredients.

And have appreciation that it’s only 35% of our daily fat intake and 31% of our daily sodium intake. Given all the meat and processedness, I thought it would certainly be closer to 100%.

It was absolutely what I imagined a stuffed hash brown would be. Salty, crunchy potato on the outside and meaty yummy on the inside. Sausage is the strongest flavor with background notes of ham (bacon?). The cheese flavor was not pronounced but it did add a nice creamy texture. This is definitely an umami bomb. I needed a little something to cut the salti-meatiness. I tried two ways: with ketchup and as a sandwich.

Now I love a good breakfast sandwich and I thought the pillowy texture of the English muffin would elevate it even further. Meh. Ketchup for the win. The slight sweetness tones down the salty-meaty just right and allows for the cheese flavor to come through. And after further reflection, this might also be really good wrapped in a flour tortilla with salsa.
Glad I tried it: Yes
Would I buy it again: Sure would (Sausage & Cheese I’m coming for you)
